WHARERANGI

THE MĀORI LITERATURE HUB

He pātaka kai, he whata rānei te wharerangi, ā, koinei hoki te kaupapa o tēnei pae tukutuku. He pātaka kī tonu tēnei i ngā mōhiotanga hei kai mā ngā kaituhi Māori i te pakimaero, i te pakipono auaha me te toikupu. He whata anō hoki tēnei e iri ake ai ā tātou tānga kōrero, mai i ngā paki putanga tūtahi, tae noa atu ki ngā pukapuka roa tonu. He pārongo, he hononga anō hoki ki ētahi kōwhiringa kei ia wāhanga, tae atu ki ngā wāhi e pānuitia ai ngā mātātuhi Māori o te wā, e whakaputaina ai hoki ngā mahi hou.

Wharerangi means storehouse or raised platform, and this is the site’s kaupapa: to provide a packed storehouse of information for Māori writers of fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry, and a platform for our publications—from a one-off story to a full-length book. Each section supplies information and links for opportunities, including places to read contemporary Māori literature and publish new work.
